Director Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti, 2001, Cuba, 88 min
Nothing More (NADA +) is the debut feature by Cuban filmmaker Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti. Depicting the social and political struggles in present day Cuba, the film follows Carla, a young postal worker who dreams of joining her parents in Miami. Intermittently bursting into song and cleverly mimicking various cinematic styles, the film is hilarious as well as heart-breaking. Selected by Biennial 2016 artist Coco Fusco.
Another Version of Events is the official Liverpool Biennial 2016 film programme. A selection of films influenced by genres including sci-fi, mockumentary, pseudo-documentary, mockbuster and ethnofiction is being screened every week throughout the Biennial.
