Education is at the heart of Liverpool Biennial’s work and is a key part of the festival and our year-round work. Liverpool Biennial is dedicated to the city and its people. We want to learn and work together with the city to support and develop new ideas of social change and action through art. Our education programme includes commissions, family workshops, free learning resources and long-term partnerships with Liverpool schools.

For Liverpool Biennial 2018, artists worked with local schools to produce a series of new commissions – from a community garden and public artworks to a large-scale structure grown from mushrooms.

Teachers can make the most of our free, cross-curriculum online resource with creative activities to use in and outside the classroom. In festival time, schools and families can also pick from a packed programme of free tours and workshops.
