Witness the transformation of Liverpool's iconic Mersey Ferry into a unique moving artwork in under 2 minutes. Everybody Razzle Dazzle is Sir Peter Blake's largest work to date. It took 3,200 hours and 800 litres of paint to complete.

Sir Peter Blake, one of the major figures of British pop art, was commissioned by Liverpool Biennial, 14-18 NOW: First World War Centenary Art Commissions and Tate Liverpool to dazzle the Mersey Ferry Snowdrop, in partnership with Merseytravel and National Museums Liverpool. Sir Peter’s design, entitled Everybody Razzle Dazzle, covers the ferry with a distinctive pattern in monochrome and colour, as the vessel continues its regular service. Unlike other forms of camouflage, dazzle works not by concealing but by baffling the eye. 

The dazzle ferry can be seen on the River Mersey until December 2016. An on-board display, curated by Tate Liverpool and Merseyside Maritime Museum, looks at the history of dazzle camouflage and the role that the Mersey Ferries took in the First World War.
