An Introduction to BLISS for Two Voices with Chorus

Taking from Tony O’Donnell’s ongoing development of a grammatical system for BLISS, a pictographic language developed in the 1950s for people with severe communication difficulties, this performance considers different dimensions of language, translation and orientation.

An Introduction to BLISS for Two Voices with Chorus uses multichannel sound and mixing techniques to interweave a live conversation between Tony O’Donnell and Judith Langley with the voices of two chorus groups consisting of BA and MA students of Hope University and Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
