Enter the ‘razzy’ world of Dogsy Ma Bone, Marvin Gaye Chetwynd's spectacular production made with and for children on tour to Touchstones Rochdale.
In 2016, Chetwynd worked with 78 young people from Liverpool to create a new film and performance, using the city as a backdrop to the action. Originally commissioned for Liverpool Biennial 2016, the work is inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s Threepenny Opera (1928) and Betty Boop’s A Song A Day (1936). This spring, the production is presented in its entirety at Touchstones Rochdale, surrounded by hand-made animal costumes and props.
Join us on the exhibition’s first day at Touchstones Rochdale to celebrate its opening and enjoy a special performance by Marvin Gaye Chetwynd and the Dogsy cast from 2pm. This is also your last chance to visit The Napoleone Collection in Gallery Two, one of Europe’s finest private collections of 20th century contemporary art by female artists.
This exhibition is part of the Liverpool Biennial touring programme, which brings artworks by international artists presented at the 2016 Biennial to six arts organisations in the North of England.
