Artist, Fritz Haeg and partners, including the Friends of Everton Park, are going to be in residence in the Bowl behind the Heyworth Street look-out (where the Little Girl Giant slept) this weekend in the first phase of his Everton People's Park: Expeditions and Experiments project.

Whether you're interested in the history of the park, growing and planting or simply want to be part of developing its future, come along, join in or just watch. Why not bring a picnic - and a towel?

Saturday 26 May 9am - 4pm Dig Mark Adams, archaeologist from the Museum of Liverpool joins Fritz and Ken Rogers, author of the Lost Tribes of Everton and keen Friend of Everton Park, to start excavations in the hope of finding traces of the former Keppel Street and St Benedict's Church.

Mark and Ken would like to find a core group of volunteers for ‘Time Team’ type training in preparation for a bigger dig on the Park to coincide with the Lost Tribes of Everton Reunion on 21 July.

11am -2pm Sow Artist Rebecca Chesney is working with the National Wildflower Centre on a project to highlight the importance of bees and provide a great habitat for them in the shape of two one acre meadows, one block of blue flowers and one block of yellow, timed to be in flower for the opening of Liverpool Biennial 2012 when Fritz's Base Camp will be installed.

Rebecca will be sowing this patch with Richard Scott from Landlife between 11.00am and 2.00pm on Saturday 26th May, on the slope below St.George’s Church, just above Netherfield Road.

Sunday 27 May 10am - 3pm Plant Polly Brannan of London collective, Avant Gardening, joins Fritz to start work on creating a Free Food Garden in the base of the Bowl. Any growers with surplus edible plants are invited to bring them along.

Monday 28 May 10am - 3pm Plant Fritz and Polly are joined by Gemma Jerome of Squash Nutrition to continue gardening and conversations with residents.
