Christodoulos Panayiotou (lives and works in Paris and Limassol, Cyprus). His artistic practice encompasses a wide range of media, including video, photography, slide projections and installations. Recently, his work has centred on material found in the Municipal Archives of the City of Limassol, photographs taken during the 1990s for the national newspaper, Phileleftheros, and the archives of the Press and Information office in Nicosia. Likening his practice to an archaeological study, the artist's ongoing research into national traditions and events in his native Cyprus recovers and re-examines the significance of commemoration, documentation and spectacle in modern society.
We are delighted to announce that Christodoulos Panayiotou will be in dialogue with Andrea Bowers, a Los-Angeles based artist whose multidisciplinary practice focuses on video and drawing as well as site-specific, community-based projects.
