British Council Ukraine and Liverpool Biennial are delighted to launch their new artistic residency programme, connecting artists from Ukraine and Liverpool. This first call is for Ukraine-based artists looking to spend up to 8 weeks in a Liverpool-based residency curated by the Biennial team.

The theme of this year’s residency is Imagined Worlds, which reflects some of the ideas behind Liverpool Biennial 2016. We are inviting artists who are interested in the potential of imagined worlds to spend time in Liverpool to develop their practice, supported by a studio and research scholarship. The selection panel is looking for ground-breaking artists whose practice complements the ethos of Liverpool Biennial. Successful applicants will be expected to produce at least one piece by the end of the residency period.
