Congratulations to Sally Tallant, Director of Liverpool Biennial, who has been awarded an OBE for services to the Arts in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

The Queen’s Birthday Honours List recognises the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.

Sally Tallant has been a Director of Liverpool Biennial since 2012. She has delivered three international biennials of contemporary art, large-scale exhibitions and commissions, as well as numerous research, education and residencies programmes. She has also led on the development of an interdisciplinary approach and has commissioned ambitious music and performance programmes. Previous projects include the commissioning of a new work by Michael Nyman and the Dazzle Ship commissions by Sir Peter Blake and Carlos Cruz-Diez.

Previous to Liverpool Biennial, Sally Tallant was Head of Programmes at the Serpentine Gallery, London from 2001-2011, where she was responsible for the development and delivery of an integrated programme of exhibitions, architecture, education and public programmes. She is a Board Member of the International Biennial Association and a member of the London Regional Council for Arts Council England.

Sally Tallant is co-curating the 10th edition of Liverpool Biennial. Beautiful world, where are you? opens on 14 July and celebrates 20 years of presenting international art in the city and region.
