Throughout Liverpool Biennial 2014, we have teamed up with FACT to screen a season of films responding to the themes raised in Sharon Lockhart's exhibition. Curated by Lockhart, the films have explored themes of childhood, and the emotions and experiences that unfold in these early years of life.
Next week, FACT present the last screening in the programme; a trilogy of films directed by Bill Douglas on Wednesday 8 October at 6.30pm. Shot over a period of eight years, the films chart a progress from childhood to adolescence, following the director's younger self from a poverty-striken mining village in East Lothian in the closing years of the war, to institutional life in an Edinburgh boys' home and national service in Egypt in the '50s.
For your chance to win a pair of tickets to this screening, and for the World Premiere of Sharon Lockhart's newest film on Friday 17 October, we invite you to tell us about your favourite childhood film, or a movie you love that explores the idea of growing up.
Please leave the name of your film and why you have chosen it in the comments section below. Two winners will be selected at random from here and the FACT blog at 3pm on Tuesday 7 October.
