As part of Liverpool 2018’s China Dream season, Shanghai-based artists He Yida and Boat Zhang have been invited by Liverpool Biennial to undertake residencies. He Yida will be based at the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA), Manchester and Boat Zhang in Liverpool. The residencies are realised in collaboration with the Shanghai Biennale and CFCCA.

In partnership with International Curators Forum, Metal is hosting three curators from the Beyond the Frame programme for the duration of Liverpool Biennial 2018: Kat Anderson, Kasia Sobucka and Sunil Shah. Each curator is developing a new project, alongside artists from their networks, in response to the Biennial and the city of Liverpool.
